The purpose of the Enhancing Nursing CAre REliability in Neonatal Intensive Care Units Study (The CARE-NICU Study) is to understand how nurse workload during a shift influences the reliability and consistency of care that nurses deliver to infants in the NICU.
Data collection for the study has been completed. We are working on data analysis and expect to begin reporting back soon.
We may contact current participants in the coming months to participate in focus groups about NICU workload; these focus groups will help us understand our results and also guide next steps. Focus groups are a different phase of the study with a different incentive and participation is voluntary.
