Before listening to Laura Fathauer’s presentation, I had no idea about mashups and user-generated content. All the things I learn from social media is some application for entertainment such as Instagram, Facebook, and Wechat. After Laura Fathauer’s presentation, I have some general ideas about the social media. She gave an example to use the google map allowing us to have a view about the old Columbus and the new one. Actually this will be helpful for my other courses such as architecture because we usually need to compare the old building to the new one.
