Elizabeth Troiano is a sophomore from University Park, MD, majoring in psychology with a double minor in linguistics and Italian. She hopes to go to graduate school for a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology and eventually become a professor of psycholinguistics. She is involved in Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and the Psychology Research Mentorship Program at Ohio State. As part of this program, in which she will complete her honors thesis by the end of her junior year, she also does research in the Language Perception Laboratory under Dr. Mark Pitt.

Elizabeth chose to attend the Biological Sciences Scholars program because she developed an interest in the life sciences throughout high school. Even though she will not end up in a career directly related to the life sciences, she would like to remain connected to biology in some way after graduating from Ohio State. She also loved living with her fellow scholars and making friends through their common interests, including a desire to discover more about the natural world and a passion for learning.
