Button Making 9/28

Hello everyone! Apologies for the last minute cancelation of last week’s meeting. That meeting’s topic, HRT and health insurance, will be covered during our next zoom meeting on 10/5. Before then, next Tuesday (9/28) we will be having our first in-person meeting! We will be meeting in the Ohio Union, in the “Destination Ohio” room for a fun button-making and hang-out.

The way button making with the student resource room works is you send in designs (original or taken from google) to be printed out, then you can use their machines to press those designs into buttons. I will be bringing a PC with photoshop, but everyone is encouraged to bring devices of their own if you are able. Additionally, we can press hand-drawn designs into buttons. I will be bringing some art supplies but you are welcome to bring some of your own, or to share. We will start our meeting in the Destination Ohio room, then will go down to the resource room once we have some designs ready.

The Destination Ohio Room is on the 3rd floor of the Ohio Union, in the Keith B Key Center (KBK). The student resource room is also in the KBK, but on the 2nd floor. You can find maps directing you to the KBK, as well as the Destination Ohio room, along with a full Trans*Mission calender, on our new webage, u.osu.edu/transmission
It’s a bit bare right now, but the calendar and maps are up, and more is to come.

Along with a calendar to help everyone keep track of where/how we are meeting each week, I plan for this page to aggregate all Trans*Mission info including past and future events, links to club contacts (discord, GroupMe, etc), as well as links to relevant resources.

Because our space reservation was so late in the semester (Mira and I just got approved to make reservations a few days ago), there wasn’t one single space that was available, so our in-person meetings will be moving around a little bit. All except for 10/26 will be in the KBK in the Ohio Union, but the room itself will change a few times. The calendar on the webpage lists the location for each meeting, and I will also include a reminder of the location before each meeting in these weekly emails.
