My name is Juan Tramontin and I am a Morrill Scholar in the Honors Program at The Ohio State University. I am studying International Business with a minor in Engineering through the IBE Honors program at Ohio State. Being born in Venezuela – and growing up bilingual – I have always embraced my culture, and have grown to appreciate other cultures as well. I am passionate in traveling, while experiencing new foods, lifestyles, and cities around the world.
In high school I had the opportunity to be President of a student-run bank called Comet Savings & Loan. CS&L is partnered with Fifth-Third Bank and is FDIC insured, and as President I was able to oversee 18 managers and 45 employees, as well as managing more than 650 student accounts, and over $250,000 in deposits on hand. Through this experience I gained valuable work skills and a deeper appreciation for the study of Business. I was also the Vice President of my Senior Class with Student Government – an organization I hope to continue being a member of here at Ohio State.
Outside of school, I play beach volleyball and, contrary to popular opinion, enjoy running. I just ran my first marathon this past May in Cincinnati, but honestly I don’t want to put myself through that again any time soon.
