About Me

A description of my person: I consider myself to be pretty difficult to describe, as I am working to figure out who I am as a person and I am counting on the University to assist me with that. Depending on who I am around, I can be an introvert or an extrovert and can fit in with just about any social group. I’m certainly a well-rounded person who is interested in just about everything. Naturally, I am more of an introvert who has always preferred independence. I’m not sure if this was chosen because it is truly who I am, because I grew up an only child, because I grew up in such a small rural town where noone took much interest in education, or a combination of the three. So I learned to never depend on other people but instead, make it as far as I can go myself. I have a feeling this attitude will change throughout my time at OSU; I will finally be surrounded by other like minded students and not be the outcast for wanting to be the best me. I love the outdoors, and was raised in a very agricultural-based society. I raised goats for 8 years, and I’ve shot bows and guns since I was 4 years old. I love to hunt, fish, hike, farm, and do “country” things. I love to travel but I can never see myself preferring the city over the country. The city is one of my greatest fears about coming to the University.

A description of me as a learner: As I breifly mentioned earlier, I’m not sure wether I prefer independence because it’s who I am or just because of the environment I’ve been exposed to thus far. I like solid, black and white things–math and science are my favorite subjects because there are exact right and wrong answers. English is my least favorite because it’s completely grey. I am planning to apply these talents in my bachelors of Food Science and Technology and then continue with my education in medical school. I am not sure exactly where I want to go in healthcare but am looking forward to exploring my options. I just recently received my basic Emergency Medical Technician Certification so I plan to practice and explore with this a bit.
