I am the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Body Image: An International Journal of Research as of January 2018. I served as an Associate Editor for this journal from January 2009- December 2017. I also served as a Guest Editor for a special series on the topic of Positive Body Image, published in June 2015 within this journal. The special series is titled: Positive Body Image: Avenues for Assessment, Application, and Advancement.
I collaborated with Rachel Calogero to serve as a Guest Editor for three special editions on Gendered Body Image for Sex Roles: A Journal of Research during 2010-2011.
I have served on the editorial board for the Journal of Counseling Psychology, Psychology of Women Quarterly, and Sex Roles. I also perform ad-hoc reviews for journals such as Appetite, International Journal of Eating Disorders, Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science, Obesity Reviews, Journal of Adolescent Health, Public Health Nutrition, Assessment, Psychological Assessment, Health Psychology Review, and Journal of Health Psychology.
I have given interviews about my research to media outlets, such as O Magazine, Self, Women’s Health, Glamour, Prevention, Fitness, More Magazine, The Washington Post, New York Newsday, and the Seattle Post.
I currently serve, and have served, on many committees at the Columbus and Marion campuses of The Ohio State University. For instance, I was a member of the Promotion and Tenure Committee and Peer Review Committee in the Department of Psychology on the Columbus campus, and I am currently chair of the Faculty Evaluation and Advisory Committee and the Workload Committee on the Marion campus.
