Deadly nightshade quickly caught my attention when considering a plant toxin to research. I immediately thought of a jar sitting on a witch’s shelf in a movie. I now know that it is not only something that witches and sorcerers used in the medieval period but also an extremely toxic plant that is used in medicines.
