About Me

Hello! My name is Jurni Tollerson and I am a first-year student at The Ohio State University. I am currently a part of the Arts & Sciences program with a major in General Psychology. I am an out of state student from Homewood, Illinois and I went to Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School. In high school, I was a part of many clubs including: Student Ambassadors, National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Operation Snowball, volleyball, golf, badminton, and band. I was a communications intern at my church back home where I took pictures of the different events around the church and wrote articles in the Sunday bulletin. I also became a junior assistant coach for The First Tee Program at Glenwoodie golf course this summer and I hope to continue doing that for the summers when I am back home.

At Ohio State, I am a member of the Mount Leadership Society Scholars program and I am on the Media and Archives Committee (MAC). I hope to get more involved in the Black Student Organization on campus and make connections with them. I would also like to get more involved with 1 or 2 more organizations, but I am still trying to get acclimated to college. I am not sure what I want to do with my Psychology major after college or if Psychology is the way I want to go, but I hope that the exploration through my General Education classes and internships will help me find my way!
