I did a lot of backtracking since I last posted just because I could not get my wire sculpture to be sturdy or cohesive. Once I got the skeleton of the headphones down, I felt a little more comfortable working with the wire but I think this medium may be something I have to keep working at. For the skeleton, I bent the wire into the basic beat solo shape and connected the large wires for the foundation. After the skeleton, I began to braid my wires for the top head band to give it strength and texture. I think that really pushed my project forward. It took me a while to finally stick with a decision because I wasn’t happy with it for a while but once I settled on the braids, I felt instantly better. To get the brand of the beats solo’ B, I bent one of the braided grouped wires and manipulated it into a lower case B. I still have the details and polishing to do to this project, but I am feeling a little bit better than I was a couple days ago. My main challenge with this project was only being able to work with two hands. I think finding a grip to place the sculpture in while I was working would have been super beneficial so I may look into finding or making a vice for my future wire sculptures.
