This week I have really been exploring different methods for bending and manipulating wire. I started by bending one long wire and looping the wire to make the ear pieces. I really wasn’t sure the best method to take but I just wanted to dive into the project and see where it took me. Finally, I think I found a method that works for me which is great, but now I think proportions and connections are what need to be focused on. I find wire to be a pretty frustrating media to use but after my work session, I felt accomplished and little tougher, considering I scraped my hands up a bit. I am using the 18 and 14 gauge wire and I think those suit the Beat headphones size pretty well. I am concerned about how my wires are going to intertwine and look in the end. I want to avoid making a sloppy designed piece but I think by mastering connections, this wont be a problem. I think now that I have the base form of the headphones down, I can hone in on detail and function. I think it would be really cool to master the beat function by having it fold up, but would the wire still be stable if I did that?
