The top three takeaways I’ve learned about learning strategies are:
1.) Learning strategies are very important ~ but one that works for you isn’t necessarily what will work for someone else!
There are 3 kinds of ways that your learning can be obstructed/helped, which are task, time, and environment.
The above image gives some ideas on how to improve your problems with learning relating to “time” and “task”! Setting time limits and being realistic are both great ways to see improvements in your classes, especially online.
2.) To have a proper plan, you should use SMART Goals!
All goals have to start somewhere! When you find a learning goal in your mind, it’s easy to follow the guide of SMART goals, which is detailed in this video. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
3.) To help become a good learner, you should use the resources available to you.
The above picture describes what I find to be the best resource we can use here at Ohio State. The writing center! They are so helpful, especially when it comes to online writing assignments. It is always right to ask for help when you need it, especially when the resources are readily available.
