The Master of Education (MEd) program in the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University (OSU) to help earn a State of Ohio teaching license. This program is for individuals with a substitute teaching license in Ohio or no teaching license at all.

Before applying for admission, our staff review transcripts to check if required courses are completed; students must finish all MEd prerequisites with at least a 2.75 GPA. Completion of prerequisite courses does not guarantee admission to the program.
Please complete the following steps.
Step One: Prepare your Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume to document your professional or academic experience working with children.
Step Two: Submit transcripts documenting that you have completed prerequisite academic work.
- Transfer credits must be verified with transcripts from the college or university where the courses were taken.
- Transcripts do not need to be submitted for courses completed at Ohio State.
- College or university coursework completed outside the U.S. requires a course-by-course evaluation from an approved agency.

Step Five: Wait for your course evaluation form to be sent to you.
Step Six: Schedule a follow-up appointment prior to applying for admission to the MEd program.
