Year in Review
[ “Year in Review” is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student. You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year. G.O.A.L.S.
Global Awareness
I plan to volunteer during my breaks at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, which has patients come from around the world to receive the best treatment possible for their conditions. Also, I have chosen courses which will broaden my global awareness. Finally, I will continue to be an active participant in learning at The Ohio State University which is a diverse institution and will broaden my global awareness.
Original Inquiry
I plan, within my four years to seek out research opportunities that will further me as a student, but also assist me with my goal of attending medical school. Similarly, I would like to conduct my own research focused on human anatomy and its applied uses in different fields of weightlifting.
Academic Enrichment
My academic plan, and in the future, my honors contract set me up to achieve all of my academic goals. I have the goal of attending medical school and becoming a doctor. I have a special interest in biology and my courses will allow me to pursue that goal and challenge myself in various ways, with research, upper level classes, and my major all combined as one.
Leadership Development
I have already, and will continue to join a number of clubs and service organizations around campus. Over time I will continue my pursuit of upper level positions within these clubs. Similarly, I plan to be employed or interning during my schooling for the later portion of my time at college. These will all allow me to develop leadership skills outside of the classroom.
Service Engagement
I plan to participate in service projects which I am already a part of through my local parish. I also plan to involve myself in volunteering at a local hospital during school breaks. Finally, I am already part of and plan to continue my participation in service oriented clubs and fundraisers such as the Make-A-Wish Club and Buck-I-Thon.
