In this weeks module, I learned about different note-taking strategies and how to be a better listener in class. One major thing that I learned in this module was about the different note-taking strategies and whether or not I should be typing or writing my notes in order to retain the most information and be the most efficient. All throughout high school, I used to write with pen and paper and my notes were never that great. Once Ohio State gave me access to the iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, my notes got significantly better. The module helped me learn about the Cornell note-taking method which seemed like a good method of note taking, but I still prefer my own method. I have already been actively listening in class and what the module explains about active listening is what I have already been implementing into my studies and has helped me retain information better. In the future, I will combine multiple different note-taking strategies into my notes in order to give myself the best opportunity to retain as much information as I can from lectures. The best advice I would give a student is to be patient about waiting for the strategies to help you. Nothing happens overnight and constant practice with these methods will be your best bet in having a better relationship with note-taking.
