Photo Partner Project

To capture Kim Buschmeier’s personality in a picture, we struggled for ideas. This however, helped us I believe. During the struggle to figure out how to represent a personality we brainstormed and laughed the whole time. Due to this project, I learned a lot about Kim. We showed each other our dorms and I learned a lot about Kim without her even telling me. I noticed she loved the Green Bay Packers from her collection of hats and souvenirs. I finally figured out whose room it was that had the cute red lamp that I saw everyday walking into the dorm. I saw pictures of her friends and family from back home and it gave me a little more context to who Kim is and what she enjoys. When asked what Kim thought her personality was like, she told me she enjoyed drawing and goofing around. I used these aspects I discovered about Kim to create this photo. In it, Kim is holding two colored pencils behind her ears, two in her mouth like a walrus, and two like claws. While I was taking the picture, I told Kim how goofy she looked and she couldn’t stop laughing. I thought this picture captured her bubbly, goofy personality well and incorporated her love for drawing with the colored pencils. I enjoyed my experience in getting to know Kim through an unconventional medium. I believe Kim Buschmeier and I found friends in each other through this project.
