Checklist for Quality in Online Courses (or any Carmen course)
OSU’s Office of Distance Education and eLearning (ODEE) has developed a set of quality assurance standards for online courses (which can also apply to hybrid or face-to-face courses that use Carmen). The standards are based on current literature in distance education and reflect university policies and feedback from Ohio State faculty. If you teach a course that uses Carmen as a tool to provide information and content to students, this checklist of standards and the resources associated with it will provide useful information and support. The checklist includes standards under three major headings:
- Format, Rigor, and Integrity
- Technology and Materials
- Teaching Strategies
