NBA Dreams Journey To The NBA

Since I was a baby I had a ball in my hands. Growing up I was always involved in sports I played Football, Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball. Even though I played all these other sports I always knew growing up I wanted to play in the NBA and become a professional basketball player. But i’ve learned through the process of reaching my goals that there is a lot more to just saying you want to be a NBA player but you have to put a lot of work into it. In the article that was written in http://inspirationalbasketball.com/odds-of-becoming-a-nba-player/ it talks about the steps it takes and the odds you face into becoming a professional basketball player. The article talks a lot about what are the odds and what you are statiscally stacked up against in making it to the NBA.

Another resources to show the statistical possibilities of making it into the NBA is a YouTube video by Magic Johnson discussing chances of making it to the NBA www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCDPGwrxPns. I took a lot away from this video and the knowledge and advice that was given about what it takes and what you have to expect.

A lot of times failure may be the case when chasing after your dreams at first but that doesn’t mean you should give up on it in a open letter on http://www.theplayerstribune.com/2016-9-29-anthony-morrow-nba-letter-to-undrafted-rookies/. By NBA player Anthony Morrow he just talked about how not being drafted doesn’t mean its over and that you still go after your dream and chase after it and don’t give up.

Not all players are blessed and fortunate enough to sign with a NBA team but the rout of continuing and playing professional basketball has been transcending to going overseas. In the article http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/8/15/4621594/nba-draft-europe-stash-2013 it talks about how often some players who get drafted and undrafted but are still sign on contract with a team are stashed away overseas. Also talks about how a lot of these players are free agents but NBA teams have there rights.

With recent rule changes with the NCAA allowing players to enter the NBA draft and if not singed with a agent the ability to come back to school instead of not being eligbale like in the past. Many experts have talked how about how this new rule has change the game. In the article http://sports.yahoo.com/news/how-the-ncaa-s-new-draft-rules-change-the-game-163756109.html it talks about how the new rule change has change a lot with allowing players to go through the process and get feed back and also allowing them if they don’t sign with a agent the chance to come back to school. I my self have personally gone through this process and it has help me a lot on knowing what I need to work on and what I need todo to get to the next level.
