Project Statement
I created a layering space project that would create a story only using the images within the space. I wanted to show the life cycle of a butterfly using vector images and hues of grey. Using the colors to show past to present with the past being the darkest and the future being the lightest color. I also created movement by looking at the cycle of a butterfly and the butterflies that take your eye in a circular motion giving it a sense of movement. The goal was to capture spring and still have movement by showing a butterflies life cycle through different layers and silhouettes.

Reflection
What I learned during this project was what layering space is, and how to create layering space art using only greyscale cardstock. I enjoyed being able to create my design in illustrator and in the Cricut design space to help me map out my different layers, before cutting them out. While creating my project I learned the Gestalt principles and learned different ways to show those principles in a layering space project.
