Global Awareness: Students cultivate and develop their appreciation for diversity and each individual’s unique differences. For example, consider course work, study abroad, involvement in cultural organizations or activities, etc .
Original Inquiry: Honors & Scholars students understand the research process by engaging in experiences ranging from in-class scholarly endeavors to creative inquiry projects to independent experiences with top researchers across campus and in the global community. Academic Enrichment: For my upperclassman interview, I interviewed an ambassador in the Neuroscience program. I asked her how to get involved with research, mainly. She gave me some good tips on contacting people as well as maintaining relationships with professors and how important that is.She told me that research was pretty important but grades and other activities were important as well, and I have to be well rounded.  As a fellow premed, she advised me on certain courses to take and which ones to avoid.

Service Engagement: To complete my 20 hours of service this year I did a variety of activities. I attended a Medlife event where we made feminine hygiene items for underprivileged women. Also, I helped run Mason’s Walk For Peace by registering people and handing out t-shirts. Most of my service hours came from playing piano at church, on certain Sundays.
