The Franklin County Dog Shelter
TOSSS has volunteer at the Franklin County Dog Shelter since 2012. They have a great facility and tons of adorable dogs that love to go on walks. Volunteering at the shelter is incredibly easy and a very low time commitment. You have to attend a dog walking class, and after that you are free to come and walk dogs as often as you please! http://www.franklincountydogs.com/volunteer/
Mid-Ohio Food Bank
The Mid-Ohio food bank has many volunteer opportunities for both groups and individuals. TOSSS has had the opportunity to volunteer there before, and it is a fantastic experience. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer there, it is incredibly easy. You can go to their volunteer website http://www.midohiofoodbank.org/act/volunteer and find events that fit your schedule.
Columbus Metropolitan Library
Do you like working with kids and adults, how about books? Well, you can kill three birds with one stone and volunteer at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. COSI (Center Of Science and Industry) Columbus
For all you science majors out there COSI is basically Christmas coming early! Have you ever wanted to volunteer at COSI? At COSI they have a variety of volunteer opportunities for everyone. Parking is free if you volunteer, or if you don’t have a vehicle you can get there by COTA! COSI also offers volunteer based internships. The Ohio Wildlife Center (OWC)
Located in Northern Columbus, OWC is dedicated to preserving Ohio’s wildlife. Their goal is to promote awareness, education, and the rehabilitation of animals. If nature is your jam, this could be a great place for you to volunteer.
