The Greater Columbus Convention Center is proud to host our Big Dish event this year in the Short North Ballroom at The Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Parking

We encourage guests to park in the Goodale garage. The Goodale garage is located at the north end of the building closest to the Short North Ballroom where the event will take place. The Greater Columbus Convention Center is offering discounted parking for our attendees, which can be provided by following the link below to pre-pay for parking at a discounted rate. Anyone who parks in the garage without a pre-paid ticket will be subject to rates posted in the parking garage.

Networking Event

General networking will begin at 5:45PM for all attendees.  Companies that are Platinum,  Buckeye Gold or Buckeye Premier are also invited to our VIP Networking event at 5PM.  Please plan on arriving slightly prior to arrival to register.  Many of our students that will be attending these networking event received tips and training on how to network. As an opportunity to help students break the ice, they will be given cards with three questions on them.  Students who capture answers to all questions will have the chance at winning a prize.  Please help them with their goal!

Alcohol

Registered industry partners attending our event receive one drink ticket upon check-in.  Any industry partner who would like to purchase additional alcohol may do so at our cash bars, which will be located throughout the event including in the ballroom.  In the spirit of this being a university event with student attending and to ensure all our guests arrive home safely, we will engage in responsible alcohol service. Also, students attending this event will not be permitted to consume alcohol during this event even if they are of a legal age to do so.

In efforts to keep up with the industry trends as well as offering alternatives to alcohol, especially for our students, we will be offering zero proof cocktails for all guests complimentary throughout the evening.  These zero proof cocktails will also include fresh ingredients from Smartfarm at The Greater Columbus Convention Center, which is the nation’s only hydroponic garden using LED lights. Program

The program will begin at 7pm. Post networking will follow after the program outside the ballroom.

Cash Raffle

We will have exciting prizes available for our cash raffle, Our Hospitality Students will practice their salesmanship skills and will compete on who can achieve the highest sales.

Tickets will be $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets.

Silent Auction

Thanks to the contributions of a variety of our partners, we have a number of fantastic silent auction items.  These items include, but are not limited to, tickets to a Buckeyes football game this autumn, great restaurant offerings, hotel packages and more!  During the Silent Auction, we will accept a personal check or credit card.  As with the cash raffle, students have the opportunity to practice their salesmanship skills and work towards achieving a goal of $8,000. Our Silent Auction will end promptly at 6:55PM.

Dress Code

The dress code is roaring 20’s and business attire.
