Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted anything, but now there’s a lot going on. So expect several posts in the next few weeks.
This is directed at junior and senior students who want to take Astronomy 5682 (Cosmology) in the spring semester of 2017.
Formerly, a prerequisite for Cosmology was Physics 5600, Statistical Mechanics. That prerequisite no longer applies, but the enrollment system is still enforcing that outdated requirement.
So if you want to enroll in Cosmology but have not yet taken Statistical Mechanics, simply send me an email that includes your OSU name.number, and I’ll enroll you in the course.
Note that Statistical Mechanics is still required for the major in Astronomy and Astrophysics. That hasn’t changed, just the requirements for Cosmology.
