Whether you work in a formal or informal teaching environment, technology is quickly becoming an integral part of effective education. I believe that if Extension is to remain relevant, educators must be able to marry content knowledge with appropriate methods of communication, which often include social and digital media.

After spending three great years working in Summit County as an Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educator, I’m thrilled to have moved into the position of Educational Technology Specialist, where I have the opportunity to work across program areas to teach our faculty and staff about educational technology. My foremost goal as an Ed Tech is to empower our educators with the knowledge and skills to create and disseminate amazing Extension content, including videos, info graphics, and social media accounts that allow for two-way communication between educators and communities.

The way in which people access their information is evolving and so must we.
