The reflectance sensors are a big part of the AEV (the model transportation device). The sensors are attached on the opposite side of the track wheel with the reflectors. The sensors will read how many times the reflectors have passed the sensors and provide a distance in inches to the computer. This is important because it allows the team to evaluate how the AEV travels based on the code and determine where it will go and stop by finding the trends in the data. The team would not know how fast the AEV was going without the sensors and make this project impossible without them.
