Team B’s Design Philosophy

Sustainability is in the news and articles everywhere you look; it has become a mainstream focus for many different fields of study and work. For our project we will be working to design and create an AEV (Advanced Energy Vehicle), which is a vehicle that is suspended from a monorail track and propelled by electric motors and propellers.  Efficiency and sustainablility are what all lead engineers and designers are looking for as we move into the future.  They want something that gets them from point A to point B in the most efficient and cost friendly way, but is also pleasant to the eye. Therefore, our focus will be directed towards creating an energy efficient and sustainable vehicle that will traverse the track using the least amount of power possible. Our goal is to create an AEV so innovative that it will help Columbus transition into a smart city, and move further into the forefront of other cities around the country. In order to achieve this goal, the teams of Company Scarlet will all test different design configurations and compare data to create the optimal design. Creating this effiecient AEV will idealy reduce pollution emissions released from the current forms of transportation and provoke a positive change to the environment.

Bellow, the reader will find links to the information documented during the designing and testing of our AEV.  This includes: information on team members and meetings that were held (Team Management); research and development regarding the basics of the AEV design process (Phase One Development); further research to test the performance between different motor and propeller configurations (Phase Two Development); and all references used(References).
