Values: Social and Economic

Our vehicle would provide an array of benefits from social to economical.

Social:

  • Greatly decrease traffic: People can take this system rather than driving which will lower traffic. Fewer vehicles on the road will lower pollution and lead to less vehicular collisions.
  • Easy access to work: The system will provide a way for people to commute to a job who currently cannot. Because of this, employment rates will rise.
  • Help disabled and elderly: The disabled and elderly will have a way to get all around Columbus easily and reliably.
  • Reduce driving anxiety: People who have anxieties related to driving will be able to use this system in place of their own vehicle.

Economic:

  • User fees: There will be a cost for people to use the transit system.  These will go back into the system, but will not be able to cover all costs.
  • Taxpayers’ subsidies: People that pay taxes in the city of Columbus will have a tax implemented that covers costs for a regular customer of the transit.
  • Institutional subsidies: Institutes like The Ohio State University will fund the transit system. Anybody who is associated with the institution will not have to pay.
