“Constructivists believe that knowledge is formed within the learner by integrating learning activities and experiences into knowledge and beliefs” (Torre et al. 2006). Each person has a different interpretation and construction of knowledge process, based on past experiences and cultural factors. Individuals construct themselves in reflexive interaction with their environment; constructing meaning from experience; “the philosophical and scientific position that knowledge arises through a process of active construction.” (Bruner, Belanger, Mascolol & Fischer, Vgotsky,). Teachers facilitate constructivism by adapting their teaching style, approach, and content to the specific developmental stage of the learner and the construction of their own knowledge.
