Business Model Canvas: BuzzBand

business-canvas-model-final

My group and I took a journey and developed a business model canvas for a product that we created called the BuzzBand. The BuzzBand is a comfortable wristband that acts as a vibrating alarm clock that requires 20 steps by the user to be shut off. After sending out surveys to discover our target market and get customer validation, we dove into the BMC to determine aspects like key partners, revenue streams, and key activities. Our team made several different drafts as we learned more about our plan for our product. We had to consider all steps of the process from the manufacturing of the wristband, the development of the app, advertising our product to the public, creating our cost structure, and thinking about future improvements. This project was extremely informative and creative, allowing a bunch of young adults to simulate the aspect of a “start-up.”

About Me

img_6268

Hello, I’m Stuart Taylor, a first-year Fisher Direct and Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship Scholar at The Ohio State University. I plan on majoring in Marketing alongside the Music, Media, and Enterprise minor. My further involvement so far at this esteemed university includes membership in Block-O and in Ohio State’s chapter of the American Marketing Association. I chose to join the ICE Scholars Program because I hope to start my own business one day. With education as my primary focus, I also enjoy music, theater, traveling, the outdoors, and playing/watching sports. My future goal is to intertwine my artistic interests with my business experience to end up in the music industry. I am ecstatic to be a Buckeye and am looking forward to getting more involved; I cannot wait to take advantage of the abundant opportunity that is present at Ohio State.
