Throughout this lesson i learned a lot. Taking notes has always been hard for me since highschool. Learning how to take active notes throughout college courses is necessary. It starts with showing up to every class and paying attention throughout the entire class time. The way notes are taken is important also. They must be structured properly to where they are easily able to be re-read and studied. Skills needed for good note taking involve active listening, rhythm, volume. It is also important to have a good note taking speed not to fast or not to slow. After taking notes from a class it is important to go back and revize notes. I personally take notes on a computer and I am aware that I am more likely to make misteaks. Because I take them on the computer i have to be more careful and make sure im not limiting myself on what information to record. It is also important to be an active listener. This requires taking notes using concepts maps, and outlines for better accuracy. Once good notes have been taken and drevised they can be used for other things. Things such as studying for future exams. They can also be used for doing other assignments.

Module 4

Throughout this module I learned a lot about different helpful resources. Websites and apps used for things such as learning, testing, and quizzing. The most useful thing I learned from this module would be from the diccussion post for this module. A post was made about quizlet website. I use this app all the time to learn from flashcards. These flashcards are made by me and also if I don’t have much time to make flashcards I can search for flashcards made by others to study from. This is helpful because it allows student to help each other while students are still learning the information. A cool feature I like about the website is that it is a user friendly website. I am able to listen in class and create flashcards as a teacher is lecturing. After the class is over I critique the flashcards and then can study them easily. If you don’t want others to have access to your set of study flashcards then you are able to make the study set private and only available. This website if free for anyone who wants to use it. If you want to pay for the premium version it is available but I have always used it for free and have never been unable to do anything I needed to.

I learned some new things in this module. For the most part things I already knew were just solidified. I have known different ways of managing time but never put those actions into place. Some things I learned that I want to start doing is making a weekly schedule to map and figure out what my week will look like ahead of time. This will help me to not miss deadline and make it ontime to different events and tasks throughout the week. I will do this by using the planner I purchased before the semester started. After every class I will record and homework assigned or test and quizzes I need to prepare for in the near future. One thing I have already applied from this module is to not wait until the last minute to complete assignments. For this module I did half of the middle assignment earlier in the week and the other half today (Sunday). This allowed me to feel like the task at hand for each day was less than if I were to do the module assignments all at once. Advice I could give to students from this module would be to stay organized. Don’t let multiple tasks and events just pile up in the mind. Write them down somewhere get a visual picture of whats going on.
