No!  The registration cost for the symposium will be the same for all attendees. You do not need to be a NACE member to attend.

What if I need to transfer my registration?

You can transfer your registration to a colleague by following these steps

  1. Submit your request in writing to events@naceweb.org at least 10 business days before the program’s scheduled start date.
  2. Include your registration confirmation with your written request.

Only one transfer is allowed per original registration. (Please note: NACE reserves the right to deny substitution requests, in advance or on site.)

What if I need to cancel my registration?

A full refund will be granted if you cancel at least 15 days prior to the start of the event/educational program. Your request must be made in writing, and directed to events@naceweb.org.

Cancellation requests made less than 15 days prior to the start of the event/program are not refundable. However, a credit equal to the value of the cancelled registration will be issued and will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Please note: No-shows are not eligible for a refund or credit.

Where will I pick up my name badge?

All badges are to be picked up on site on Monday, May 20th, at the Ohio Union.  Please look for the symposium information table on the 2nd floor of the Ohio Union, outside the Archie Griffin Grand Ballroom.

Are group rates available?

If five or more staff members from the same organization register for the symposium we will offer a 20 percent discount for each registrant. This is, essentially, a “buy 4 get 1 free” deal!

Please note, all registrations must be received simultaneously and billed on one invoice.

For more information on group rates, please contact the planning committee at events@naceweb.org.

How do I submit an accessibility accommodation request or dietary request?

We are committed to providing symposium experiences and environments that are welcoming, inviting, and user-friendly for all attendees. The planning committee recognize that some individuals require specific accommodations to ensure their full and equal participation.

Requests for specific accessibility accommodations including the dates and times of anticipated services, or any dietary restrictions, must be received by asccareer@osu.edu no later than April 29th, 2019, to ensure those arrangements can be arranged and confirmed prior to symposium.

General Questions

Is the conference different than previous years?

While the timing and length of the 2019 symposium will remain the same, the content will be different. We encourage past attendees to return to the symposium to engage with peers and learn more about how competencies are being integrated on their campus.

My school is bringing multiple people (i.e. career services staff, faculty, student life staff, etc.).
Do we all need to go to the same sessions?

No! There will be separate tracks for beginners and those that are more intermediate/advanced. There will also be an opportunity for affinity groups to meet together, so faculty will be discussing competencies with other faculty, career services staff with other career services staff, etc.

How do I access the symposium attendee list?

A list of symposium attendees, and their home institution, will be provided before the symposium begins. A full list of attendees, with contact information, will be included in the symposium workbook, which you receive at registration.

How can I get a copy of the symposium program?

Relevant symposium details, such as any pre-readings, for example, will be provided to attendees before the symposium. Additional resources and materials will be provided in the symposium workbook, which you will receive upon on-site registration.

What should I wear to the symposium?

The symposium is set in a relaxed atmosphere. We encourage attendees to display their school spirit by wearing their branded golf shirts, etc.! Meeting spaces can be cool so bringing a layer is recommended.

Are children allowed at the symposium?

Although attendees may bring family members to Columbus, only paid registrants will be permitted to attend symposium events.
