Introduction

The Switchless Light Switch machine is the most simple yet intricate method to turn on a light, designed by Surabhi Tewari, Ransika Liyanage, and Ying Huang.

Often times, when sitting in comfy position on the couch all day, getting up to turn on the lights is extremely irritating. By simply pressing one button on a remote, it is possible to turn on the lights. For example, the Switchless Light Switch can be especially useful for students that are studying on their bed or couch and do not want to get up to turn on the lights. Instead of losing their place in their studies and getting distracted, students can simply hit one button on the remote and continue studying.

Sense of space: The machine only requires about 1.5 x 2 m of wall space and a floor area about 1 m deep from the wall.
