Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness: I plan on studying abroad to meet my global awareness. I would like to experience another country’s culture and unique differences from the United States. I would also like to volunteer in another country to help those that are in need of help, specifically medically. I often times take for granted how fortunate I am to live in a well developed country, and would like to help people that live in less fortunate situations.

Original Inquiry: I want to pursue research while I am at the Ohio State University. I would like to research specific illnesses, so I can aide in the progression to a safer world. I would like to talk to top researchers and understand their thought processes on attacking problems, so I can attack problems similarly and achieve similar success.

Academic Enrichment: I will achieve academic enrichment by taking honors classes, and by pushing myself to excel in all of my classes. I plan on taking some graduate level courses as an undergraduate student to push myself to learn more as an undergraduate student. This will separate myself from the average college student. I will strive to be the best student I can possibly be.

Leadership Development: I would like to become a leader in a volunteering program, as well as in an extracurricular activity on campus. I am currently in a few extracurricular activities, however, I desire to have a larger part in these organizations, so my voice can be heard. I strive to become a leader, and listen to the opinions of my peers to further my success as a leader.

Service Engagement: I will volunteer both at school and at home. I plan on volunteering at hospitals, but most importantly I plan on volunteering where I am needed. I want to volunteer in hospitals, so I can interact with patients, and hopefully brighten up their days.
