CFAES’ OSU Extension outreach arm hosts Sustainability Planning for Ohio Farmers Markets on Nov. 11–12 in Columbus. Designed for the managers of farmers markets, the workshop aims to help maintain and grow consumer demand, boost consumer support, and in the end increase a market’s sustainability and success.
Develop an action plan
The workshop, which features experts from Grow NYC and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, is based on resources developed by the Farmers Market Federation of New York.
“Market managers,” the event flyer says, “will leave with an action plan they can take to their vendors, boards, and/or communities for feedback, consideration, and implementation.”
Registration is $100 per person, or $150 for two attendees from the same market and $50 for each additional team member from the market. The registration deadline is Nov. 10.
