Gonna make these gardens grow

CFAES’s two arboretums … arboreta … major plant collections are holding spring plant sales this weekend. Both sales usually draw hundreds of eager gardeners. Proceeds benefit the arboretums’ plantings and programs. Located in Columbus and Wooster, the tree- and flower-filled facilities are open to, are welcoming to and are happily used by the public.

Chadwick Arboretum, Columbus

Chadwick Arboretum’s Spring Plant Sale and Auction is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 11; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the northwest corner of Lane Avenue and Fred Taylor Drive on Ohio State’s Columbus campus. Admission is free. Read more.

Secrest Arboretum, Wooster

Secrest Arboretum is holding its Plant Discovery Day Pre-Sale for members of the Friends of Secrest Arboretum from 3-4 p.m. Friday, May 11, and its annual Plant Discovery Day Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Both will take place outside Fisher Auditorium on CFAES’s Wooster campus. Admission is free. Get details on the pre-sale and sale.
