Workshop on biobased systems in Columbus

CFAES’s 2018 Advanced Biobased Systems Workshop, organized by the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) and with a theme of “Pipeline to Commercialization,” is set for Sept. 10 in Columbus.

Speakers

Roger Wyse, managing partner with New York-based Spruce Capital Partners, will give the event’s keynote talk, “Building the Next Generation of Biogentech Companies: An Investor Perspective.”

Nine other talks on the program will focus on feedstock production, application development, and scale-up and commercialization.

Among the speakers will be three faculty members from FABE: Katrina Cornish (“Developing Applications for Natural Rubber Alternatives”), Ajay Shah (“Evaluating Scale-Up Potential: A Critical Step”) and Scott Shearer (“Big Data Driven Optimization of Feedstock Logistics for Biobased Industries”).

Registration is $60 by Aug. 20 and $75 after Aug. 20. Registration for college students is $30 by Aug. 20. For registrants, there’s also a free farm tour and barbecue networking event the evening of Sept. 9, sponsored by the Ohio Soybean Council.
