The Ohio Sustainable Farm Tour and Workshop Series continues with the Healthy Soil Farm Tour from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Margraf Family Farm, 7838 state Route 587, in McCuthenville in northwest Ohio.
The Margraf family “has been addicted to growing healthy soils for more than 10 years,” the tour description says. Their farm grows corn, soybeans and wheat using 100 percent no-till and cover crops, which keeps nutrients such as phosphorus on the farm and out of Lake Erie. It raises cows and calves on pasture, partners with the Seneca Conservation District and is a USDA edge-of-field water quality monitoring research site.
