Communities in a social network.
We build a network of Twitter users. A directed link is placed between two users if a user mention the other user with a hashtag related to a topic. In this example, the topic is College Football and hashtags related to PAC12 and Big10 division are provided. The data were collected in September 2013 and about 2 million tweets were analyzed.
Communities in this interaction network reflect the hidden structure related to the group of fans. For example, two larges communities correspond to the fans of Buckeyes and Wolverines.
