Original Inquiry

I am hoping to get involved with research while here at Ohio State.  Through taking a variety of different classes, I plan to find what courses I like best and figure out what passion I could pursue in a major and for a career. It is important to me to stay find ways to get involved, beyond academics.

Service Engagement

Service is extremely important to me. In High School, I led the personal care drive and volunteered at a rehabilitation facility at least once a month. I am currently volunteering weekly as a tutor at Metro Middle School. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to help out teachers and younger students as much as possible. Once more events are being held in-person, I hope to make them a priority.

Leadership Development

Leadership was extremely important to me in High School, and I hope to continue my involvement at Ohio State. My leadership style definitely includes leading others. I like leading in service-based environments. I hope that my involvement in Engineering Scholars and other organizations will help me better manage my time and academics.

Academic Enrichment

I am enrolled in classes that pertain to my interests and that will hopefully help me become a better-rounded student. For my first semester, I enrolled in courses that pertain to engineering like chemistry and calculus, both of which continue to develop my science and mathematical skills. Since I am exploring my options for a major next semester, I am taking a variety of classes including Psychology and Environmental Science to prepare me for my future endeavors.

Global Awareness

While at OSU, I hope that I am able to study abroad or go on a service learning trip. I would love to experience another culture and meet people I would normally never get to meet. I have plans to pursue a minor in French, so hopefully I will get to travel to France one day. Ohio State offers a variety of organizations that focus on celebrating other cultures, and I hope I get to explore more of them during my time here.
