Janani Subramanian is a first year honors mechanical engineering student who hopes to work with renewable energy and sustainable resources in the future. In high school, her favorite class was Engineering Academy. Instead of just teaching technical skills, this class gave students opportunities to work on teamwork and problem solving through various projects. Overall, this experience has made her passionate about making a difference in the world through engineering.
Janani was involved in a number of activities in high school including being a member of the CYSO orchestra & playing on the field hockey team. Both have taught her many skills including the importance of community and leadership. She hopes to make the best of her college experience by getting involved on campus as well. She is currently a member of SWE and Student Leadership Advocates.
In her free time, Janani enjoys playing violin, hiking, and eating good food 🙂
