“8 Places to Get High on Campus…without Smoking”

Ohio State’s campus provides several “must-see” spaces. Most of these at ground level, but we wanted to provide a list of some of these spaces that are quite high. If you ever find yourself bored, these can be some places to explore with your friends instead of using cannabis or drinking alcohol. And hopefully you’re not afraid of heights…

  1. Scarlet Skyway
    • Scarlet Skyway is the bridge that connects the second floors of the RPAC and the PAES building. Not only does it allow for easy access between these buildings, it provides a nice view of Ohio Stadium and if you cross at the right time, you can catch a good sunset view.
  2. Top Floor of Thompson Library
    • Not only does this space provide a quiet, peaceful place to study; it also provides windows with beautiful views.
  3. Garden on Knowlton Hall or Howlett Hall
    • Knowlton Hall and Howlett Hall both have green space on their roof that are pretty easily accessible. Both of these provide unique spaces to get some fresh air, unwind and get some good views.
  4. Sky Lounge in Park-Stradley
    • The Sky Lounge in Park-Stradley provides a nice space to relax or study and floor to ceiling windows that show a great view of downtown Columbus.
  5. 4th floor of PAES
    • The top floor of PAES has a lot to offer, especially when it comes to mental health. Wellness Coaching is located here and provides opportunities for you to gain awareness regarding your capacity to create the life you want to live, both now and in the future. If you’re interested, you can learn more and schedule an appointment at swc.osu.edu. The Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) Lab is also located on this floor. Get self-guided biofeedback, have a 1:1 biofeedback session, or participate in a meditation group. If you’re interested, you can visit u.osu.edu/smartlab to learn more and schedule an appointment.
  6. ARC Climbing Wall
    • If you want to reach new heights while being active, this is the place. The Adventure Recreation Center includes the Tom W. Davis Climbing Center which features 4,000 square feet of indoor climbing space.
  7. 6th Floor of CBEC building
    • The Dow Student Lounge is located on the top floor of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Chemistry building. This lounge has high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows and amazing views.
  8. C-deck in Ohio Stadium
    • While many people want to be as close to the field as possible, C-Deck in Ohio Stadium provides a spectacular view of the entire stadium, but you might get tired climbing all those stairs.
