Hello there! My name is Amber Alexander and I am currently a third year student studying English at The Ohio State University at Marion. My passions include social justice, professional and creative writing, history, and making differences as a student for students.

This blog website is created to give a student perspective to Student Life events happening at Ohio State Marion. It also allows students a different platform to tell their stories and experiences through a student led newsletter updated regularly.

My Story on Campus:

I started as a declared English major in the fall of 2017. In the beginning of Spring semester 2018, I became a student employee and became much more involved. I am now in leadership positions of two clubs, President of “Kapow!” Creative Writing Club and Treasurer of Undergraduate Student Government. In both clubs, I’m serving my second year in those positions. I am also one of five Sesquicentennial Scholars on the Marion Campus, I’ve been published in the Cornfield Review (poetry, prose, and play), and have been involved in the campus productions of “Arsenic and Old Lace” as Elaine and “The Wedding Singer” as a featured dancer and soloist in the chorus. I have a great passion for the history and service Ohio State builds into communities and using that to better the student body through leadership positions.

I plan to go to graduate school and obtain my MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Creative Writing and eventually have my own work published. Additionally, I want to work in the government in a Professional Writing position.
