Medina County Fair Queen

This artifact corresponds with the first semester of my second year here at Ohio State. This year has been quite an eventful for one for me, however, if I had to pick the one thing that was the most impactful to me it would be my crowning as the Medina County Fair Queen for 2019. 4-H and the Medina County fair have been a pivotal point in my life for as long as I can remember. Because of my experiences, I developed my love for animals and my passion for helping people. I have admired the fair queens for the past 5 years and I have been working towards achieving the title for the past three. I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to represent the wonderful county I live in. I have loved being able to travel all over the state to meet other queens and advocate for agriculture. I can’t wait to see what the rest of my reign brings!

Artifacts

My artifacts for this year are my wonderful roommates. I came into college not knowing a soul and naturally I was completely terrified. But then I met my roommates and things started to change for better. They quickly became some of my best friends and we do basically everything together. They are all truly amazing and I’m so thankful I got to know them. Truly one of the best things about my college experience. Also, I couldn’t forget our super adorable roommate Clyde the leopard gecko! 🙂

Artifacts

For my artifact section I have chosen an object that means a lot to me.

The picture of the Medina County Fair pin represents hard work and determination. I have been a life long resident of Medina County and have been attending our local fair since I was born. At the age of nine, I decided to enroll in a local 4H group. Through 4H I took on several projects including still exhibits and over 7 different animal projects. Over the course of 10 years I gained an immense love and appreciation of agriculture. Along with this love I also learned the some of the hardest lessons a child has to learn. I learned about loss, determination, respect, leadership, responsibility, community, passion, compassion, showmanship, citizenship, and more. All the while, I thought I was simply just having fun, but looking back I have realized that 4H has shaped into the person I am and for that I will always be thankful.
