Year in Review

Looking back on my first year at Ohio State, I have learned to manage my time extremely well and balance academic endeavors with my personal life. I achieved a 4.0 GPA and will utilize experience from my first year as a return to apply for my major and continue along my career path. In the upcoming year, I plan on becoming more involved in extracirricular activites as well as community service.

Global Awareness:

I have traveled abroad and studied Spanish in high school and my future goal is to do an engineering service trip to Ghana, Africa in order to implement sustainable solutions to environmental and human health problems. I am participating in the Second-Year Transformational Experience at OSU in order to earn money to take the trip.

Academic Enrichment:

I took many AP classes in high school and graduated with above a 4.0 GPA. I plan to continue to challenge myself in learning and push myself to do the best I can throughout college. Stress and time management may be a potential obstacle of this goal but I prepare to do the best I can to handle my time and remember my reason for attending college. I can use tutoring services and the Wellness Center to help me achieve this goal and overcome any obstacles it may present.

With an planet increasingly becoming affected by global warming, it is important to move towards a greener and more sustainable future. Because transportation has such a large impact on greenhouse gas emissions, creating zero emissions, sustainable cars would be a great move towards reducing humans’ negative environmental impact. I chose to study this because I want to dedicate my life to creating a cleaner planet. Creating cars solely powered on wind and solar energy are completely feasible and more research should be put in to lower costs and make this concept a reality for the future.
