The Ohio State Stories Corpus is a corpus of 30 read short stories produced by 45 young adult male and female talkers from two regional dialects in the Midwestern United States. Each story was produced in two speaking styles, for a total of 2,700 recordings. The Ohio State Stories Corpus can be used in acoustic and perceptual studies of linguistic and social variation in American English.

If you are interested in obtaining speech samples from the Ohio State Stories Corpus for use in research or pedagogical projects, please contact Cynthia Clopper.

The collection of the Ohio State Stories Corpus was supported by NSF Grant BCS-1056409 to Ohio State University.
