The Mothman is a supernatural creature that was first reported in Point Pleasant, West Virginia in 1966. A reportedly large moth like humanoid, thus dubbed the Mothman. The Mothman has become a very recognizable figure outside of just West Virginia and has become a very important piece of folklore in his home state, having a festival to celebrate him as well as his own museum. This project will be analyzing the history of the Mothman and his status is West Virginian folklore.
