Strategic Life Plan

When I started my education at OSU, I had planned on pursuing a career in Pharmacy. However, after taking personality tests (such as OnPACE), attending seminar, and meeting professionals in the medical field, I have decided to take a different path. I am now interested in pursuing a career Radiology or Physician Assistant. To help me choose a career, I plan on utilizing the campus resources. I want to job shadow professionals from each field, make an appointment with Career Counseling, and talk to an advisor about what courses take.

Academics should always be a priority in college but I have learned that maintaining my personal health is important as well. There are many strategies for managing stress, such as, exercising, eating well, and getting enough sleep. OSU offers many services that help students who are struggling physically, mentally, or academically. I personally have used the Nutrition Center at the RPAC when I was having trouble with my diet.

One of the best aspects of OSU is the staff. I have had great experience with advisors, instructors, and even students. I am friends with an upperclassman who has helped me with scheduling, shown me around campus, and has given me tips about studying for exams. Both my Pharmacy and Exploration advisors have done a tremendous job in helping me with my major. I am hoping to gain more connections with the faculty here at OSU.

I am very excited for spring semester. Now that I have an idea of what career I want to pursue, I am more motivated to focus on my future. Next semester, I plan to focus on gaining experience in Radiology and PA through job shadowing and, possibly, internships.
