6th Annual Steps for Sarcoma 5k 2015

  September 13, 2015 9am-12pm

Currently the website for 2015 is not open for registration yet.  The 6th annual 5K/1 mile event will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Wendy’s International, 4288 W. Dublin-Granville Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017 with registration beginning at 9:00 am and the 5K and 1 Mile event beginning at 10:00 am.

Sarcoma survivors are encouraged to come together for a Survivor Photo that will be taken at 9:30 am.  Signs will be posted for the photo area.

This is a family event – please bring your dog friends too!  Event activities this year will include:  photo booth, silent auction, raffle items, and 50/50 raffle.  Please check the Sponsorship Levels for ways to donate – and remember to sign up for a race route or finish line sponsorship sign!

Sarcomas affect dogs and people of all ages – we partner with the OSU Veterinary Medical School and Nationwide Children’s Hospital for sarcoma research.  Sarcomas represent a family of rare cancers that originate in the connective tissues, which includes fat, muscle, bone, cartilage, nerve, fibrous tissue, and blood vessels.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication during 2014. Whether you contributed in a large or small way, you are making sarcoma research more effective.  We are very proud to say our event has grown bigger and stronger each year in participants and funds raised – last year we had over 1200 registered participants and raised  $200,000!  We now have an amazing five year total profit of over $375,000, which goes to The James Orthopaedic Sarcoma Research Development Fund.

Our event committee, staff, and volunteers work hard to make this event a reality, but each of us feels it is our obligation to bring sarcoma awareness and research to the community.  We are making an impact in sarcoma research, in the lives of those affected by this disease, and their loved ones.

We are looking forward to seeing you in September!
