STEP Post-Project Reflection

The project involved attending the BioDot facility for my leadership conference in Orange County, California from May 5th to May 8th, 2024. BioDot was established as part of the ATS company in Southern California with its patented BioJet™, “Drop on Demand”​, non-contact, dispensing technology.

This project centered on my participation during my conference, a collaborative and interactive experience. Through this travel to my conference, I was given the unique opportunity to immerse myself in the latest developments in the life science field.

My understanding of myself and my assumptions about the professional world had a significant transformation during my internship at BioDot, Inc. Initially, I held assumptions about sales and CRM work, thinking it was mostly about numbers. However, through hands-on experience, I realized the balance between technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking required for successful sales. This realization reshaped my perspective on the complexity of business operations and the importance of continuous learning and adaptability.

Several key experiences and interactions contributed to this transformation. Engaging in CRM tasks and conducting over 300 cold calls provided me with firsthand insight into the challenges and complexities of building relationships with potential clients. Collaborating with co-workers exposed me to diverse perspectives and approaches to problem-solving, broadening my understanding of effective sales strategies.

Additionally, learning about BioDot’s innovative products sparked my curiosity and motivated me to deepen my knowledge of the industry. These experiences pushed me out of my comfort zone, encouraging me to challenge my preconceptions and embrace new opportunities for growth.

This transformation holds significant value for my personal and professional development. By recognizing the multifaceted environment of sales and CRM work, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the skills and qualities necessary for success in the sales field.

The exposure to cutting-edge technology at BioDot has inspired me to continue exploring opportunities for innovation within the health science field. This transformation has equipped me with the insight and motivation to navigate the complexities of the professional world with confidence and determination.
