About Me

My name is Sanjana Srivastava.   As I was pursuing my high school career my  AP Anatomy and Physiology class inspired my choosing of the medical track.  As our final project, my high school allowed for our class to experience the dissection of a cadaver.  As morbid as it may sound, it was that moment when I was able to see the bruises resulting of a heart attack and the still heart of a man in his 80’s, that I knew I wanted to work with the human body.  Before coming to Ohio State University, I was enrolled in a summer research program where I was able to explore the diagnosis options of pancreatic cancer.  It was that research project that sparked my interest in the study of Oncology and its affect on populations.  As I was applying to OSU, I realized that there was a major not limiting to just that specific topic, but allowed me to expand beyond Oncology and gave me the ability to look into other sociological perspectives.  It was Public Health that lead me to this course in my life and I hope to do lots more with it as I hope to reach my goal of medical school.
